I changed the way recent task is invoked in this version. If you were unable to use Task button, then this time it should work. But it is just an experimental attempt on ICS. It is confirmed to work on Jelly Bean. So if you use ICS and it doesn’t work but was working, please tell me. Thanks.

Aug 08, 2012 @ 08:08:18
Thanks for the great app!! As of the update the recent task has stopped working on Samsung Fascinate running 4.0.4. Again thanks for the great app, also using it on nook color.
Aug 09, 2012 @ 13:06:43

Aug 16, 2012 @ 15:51:15
You need to root your phone to fully enable all button functions. Just google for super one click root and read the guide for usage. The process should be very simple and straightforward.
Aug 16, 2012 @ 15:52:32
thanks a lot will try it and reply asap
thanks again
Aug 16, 2012 @ 15:55:53
I also used super one click root to root my galaxy s. so it should work for u too.
Aug 16, 2012 @ 15:59:04
i googled it but just cannot understand the process
i know am asking a favor but can you please help me and guide me how to root samsung galaxy s
Aug 16, 2012 @ 16:03:12
Just download the latest version of super one click root. Make sure you installed drivers of your phone on your pc. Then turn on USB debug in your phone through settings/applications/development . After that, connect your phone to pc with USB cable and run super one click root. Press root button to start the process. Wait patiently and read output from super one click root for action that you need to take. During the process, your phone will restart few times.
Aug 16, 2012 @ 16:22:49
Can you power on your phone to home screen? By the way, are you using stock rom or you are using community ROM?
Aug 16, 2012 @ 16:19:29
I did as instructed but my cell is stuck on kernel panic upload mode what should i do
Aug 16, 2012 @ 16:26:22
Found this on web. Maybe you should give it a try “Yes. It will. But after rooting with SuperOneClick you will get “Kernel panic” screen, just unplug battery and put it back. That’s all your phone is rooted.”
Aug 16, 2012 @ 16:42:19

Using this on my HTC One S running MIUI v4 (sense framework) but the back button aint working nor is the menu button (the … button)
Sep 10, 2012 @ 11:36:05
Hi.
If you are unable to use keys other than home, then please check below three items for quick fix
(1) Your phone must be rooted. Button Savior requires root to run properly
(2) USB debug must be turned on. Go to setting/application/development to turn on this
(3) If your phone is already rooted but you are still not able to use, please make sure Button Savior is granted root in super user. In this case, please uninstall and reinstall. During first use and first key press on back menu or search, please wait a little bit of time to let super user dialog to come up. Of you do thing to quick, you will miss to see the granting dialog.
Sep 20, 2012 @ 12:50:59
Hi, I am using Cyanogen Mod 7 on my Galaxy Apollo. My back button is not working. Installed Button Saviour but it does not show ‘Open’ button after installation. Please help.
Sep 20, 2012 @ 14:08:39
Hi,
Are you referring to the tiny trigger button? If yes, I think you just need to open an app with white background such as browser to locate the button. It is not easy to spot if you are new user and are not familiar with it. Other than that, I don’t know any reason why the button is missing.
Sep 20, 2012 @ 14:46:32
I am not able to spot it in Browser. The application also does not show in Application drawer. After the installation of app, there are normally two buttones – Open and Done. The Open button is not available. Do I need to give superuser permissions manually ?
Sep 20, 2012 @ 15:00:24
Hi, I think you installed Button Savior pro directly without installing the free version together . Pro is just an unlock key for free version. So I believe you should be able to use it after installing the free version.

Hi, I really need a way to assign a soft key to pop up the power menu in gingerbread the lets me choose to reboot, shutdown or take a screenshot. Will this app let me do that? Thanks.
Sep 20, 2012 @ 14:21:44
Hi,
Power dialog is system dialog and cannot be invoked programmatically. I actually spent a while to study it before but failed.

I’m on jelly bean and the back key and one other key dont work….kindly help
Sep 20, 2012 @ 19:53:26
Hi guys. Just wanted to say what a great app this is. I have an htc evo 4g lte and the home buttons just stopped workin all of a sudden. All the soft buttons work minus the back button. If someone could help me out i would really appreciate it as the app is a true savior. Thanx.
Sep 30, 2012 @ 10:12:56
Hi,
Button Savior requires root to function fully. Please make sure your phone is rooted first. If it is already rooted, then make sure u granted access right in superuser.
Sep 26, 2012 @ 03:35:30
Hi,
I’m having trouble activating the app’s home key on my unrooted device (xperia ray, running stock 2.3.4) , I get the vibration feedback but nothing happens. Maybe some option that I overlooked?
Any help would be appreciated.
Sep 27, 2012 @ 03:11:12
Solved it.
When Android Recent Task option is selected the home key doesn’t respond. Might be a bug?
Anyway, excellent app, probably going to upgrade to pro. Thank you.

5- wonderful app. Work on s3 with no problem
I used it to save my home button
1st i did not like it but when you got use to it . No way it is your friend all the way
Nov 01, 2012 @ 16:35:50
Hi,
I’ve installed Button Savior and it is working but it does not support auto hide?
I have USB debug turned on, granted root access in SU too.
Nov 05, 2012 @ 13:09:09
Hi,
Autohide has been a very stable feature since its first release. You can setup a shorter timer to test it. And remember, one Button Savior panel reveals, don’t touch any button until it is auto hiden. Autohome resets its timer everytime you press a button. So if you continously use buttons with a long timeout, then you it will be a bit longer to hide.
Nov 05, 2012 @ 13:11:27
but i cannot see or change any of the options from the app.
uninstall n reinstall also does not help…
Nov 05, 2012 @ 13:15:25
I see your problem now. You need to use the main app from launcher to do all the setup. The floating panel is just a button simulation overlay. In main app, you should be able to locate an option called ‘auto hide timeout’
Nov 05, 2012 @ 18:54:05
when i click on the main app from the launcher, the setup page do not appear.
Nov 05, 2012 @ 19:47:33
I see. Please turn off force h/w rendering in setting/developer options

i disabled the developer options.
upon clicking the button savior icon, it stay at blank screen with button savior title on top then back to app menu.
Nov 05, 2012 @ 20:47:45
Hi, I suggest you turn off everything in developer options except USB debugging. Then try again. Black screen is issue caused by faulty GPU rendering and i don’t know why it would happen.
Best regards, Jerry Fan
Nov 06, 2012 @ 19:00:32
Hi, Just a follow up. Not sure have you solved your issue. If you did, would u mind to sharing me what did you do? I can later on add your solution in my FAQ. Thanks.

Best regards, Jerry Fan
Nov 07, 2012 @ 08:30:53

Nov 07, 2012 @ 00:10:19

most disturbing problem is “Power Button” some times when you press it , it not respond at all , why , dont know , it has to turn the screen Off. when you press on the “button-savior” power button , screen gos off , turn the screen on , press the phone power button , now it work !
dont know why .
ICS-4.0.4 SGS3
Now other problem In JB.- SGS3
when the button-savior menu appear from the right side of screen “when you press on the icon” it show up but with slow animation which is take 1 sec ! and disappear with animation as well , it is nice to show it directly clean and fast ! with out any animation.
Make it as option if some one like the animation ! i dont !

Nov 21, 2012 @ 11:03:50
Hi,
Sometimes, su pops up with delay. So if you didn’t wait long enough and did some actions before su dialog popup, you might miss the chance to grant root permission for Button Savior. If you are sure your device is proerly rooted, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall again so that you get another chance to grant permission for it. Since you said u are unable to uninstall, I believe you enabled screen lock in SB’s setting. So please disable it before trying to uninstall.
Nov 21, 2012 @ 10:06:57
just tested n confirmed that button savior don’t work with omega rom.
wanamlite is ok and working well on stock rom too.
Nov 21, 2012 @ 11:51:55
Hi,
I believe BS should work on any properly rooted device. So I believe the root environment in omega rom is not complete. If you know how to root, I suggest you try to root it again.
Dec 01, 2012 @ 09:42:03
it is confirmed that BS is not working in Omega rom as I’ve got another friend done the test.

Hi,
You must root your device in order to get full function.
Dec 28, 2012 @ 19:32:41
Hello. Any chance to increase the number of customizable buttons? Currently its cam and call. Just bought the pro version for a great app like this to support great developers.
Apr 07, 2013 @ 21:35:08
The power button on my motorala droid no longer works. This app was listed as a possible solution. I bought a pro version of the app but cannot figure out how to remap the camera button as the power button. The only options i’m given are shortcuts to apps on my phone. What am i doing wrong? Or is this app not able to do what i need?
Apr 10, 2013 @ 23:37:16
Hi,
You actually need something called button remapper. But it doesn’t support all kind of device. But if you are willing to conduct some searches on Google for question such as “How to remap hardware key”, you should be able to find the right instruction. But you can only do it on root phone.
Apr 10, 2013 @ 03:45:16
Thanks so much for this app ;]
I am using version non root.
But is there also the “options” icon somewhere? (in my htc wildfire icons, which are broken: home, options, back and search). I can live without the “back” one, but “options” it’s quite necessary for some actions…
Please advise if I am missing it or it doesn’t exist in the app.
Apr 10, 2013 @ 23:38:13
Hi.
Menu key is not supported in non root version due to limitation. If you really need it, you can get the root version of Button Savior. But it works on root phone only.
Apr 11, 2013 @ 08:54:11
Excellent app. Been using it since HC3.1 through ICS and now onto JB4.22.
Acer A100, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, Nook and Asus TF101. Would not mind helping out with ver. 2.
