Alpha testing – Designed for devices running Android phone version.

Smart Statusbar is the first and only Status bar enabler in full screen app. You can now reveal status bar in any Full screen app with gesture.

Imagine you are watching movie and you want to know what time it is, with Smart Statusbar you can do a finger swipe as you were trying to expand status bar on top of the screen to reveal it. No more back to home screen and leave what you are doing to get info you need in full screen app.

Alpha testing – feedback welcome. Note – It doesn’t work in Honeycomb and ICS tablet version because there is no such need.

I finally added default recent task dialog as an option for long press home key in this version. It is not enabled by default because there are lots of non Google compliant devices running with Button Savior such as Kindle Fire and Nook Color. So if you want to enable the use of native Android recent task dialog, please go to setting and enable it. It works with ICS and Honeycomb too!

I finally found an efficient to auto correct corrupted database. So user with duplicate app icon entries, missing apps, or having icons of app already uninstalled, should now be able to correct this situation by pressing Refresh button. In case you don’t know where to find it, refresh Button is the third one from left on toolbox panel.

Today, I published a version, V1.3.1, mainly for fixing issues related to the new Hide On Click introduced in V1.3.0. So if you observed any weird issues only in 1.3.0, then all of them are fixed here.

Button Savior is a great tool for replacing hardware buttons. But there are also people who just want to use it for one action and don’t need want to click on trigger icon, and then click one the only one action they need. So in V1.3, I added a feature which allow users to set an action for trigger icon when there is only one button selected in button reordering setting. This new features further expands the usage of Button Savior to next level. Originally, it is just designed to replace hardware button. Now with this feature, it an be configured as screen off widget, quick task switcher widget .. and etc.
V1.3.0
Added
(1) Allow user to set action on trigger icon when there is only one button selected.
(2) Option for trigger icon size
(3) Option for hide on click

Please forgive my lack of maintenance of this app in past few weeks. I was working day and night on a CES demo project for my day time job. Today I finally made my final update for Smart Taskbar in 2011. It is not a big update. Just one bug fix in it because I only have time to work today. Other than today, I will be either busy or having new year vacation.

V1.2.4
Fixed
(1) Fixed a bug which prevents user from moving label to desired order.

First of all. Sorry for my lack of app maintenance during the past few weeks. I also feel so bad to those who sent me email without getting prompt reply also. I was super busy on a CES demo project in my day job. Today, I am finally freed from that.

In 2011, I published 2 more new apps (Everywhere clipboard and Invisible Grip) and 1 extension plug in for Smart Taskbar. Some of them are very well received from Android community and I am very happy about that. In addition to that, I also added some cool features such as ability to remap soft keys in Button Savior and handful of new things in Smart Taskbar. As the end of 2011 is near. So I think it is time to think and talk about apps that I want to make in 2012.

(1) Smart Taskbar V2.0 – Generally, I want to overhaul the original design and throw in more cool features such as ability to use drag and drop to arrange apps into category, new user interface with new user experience design, ability to use gesture more, and perhaps feature to adpot multi level categories instead of single level as the current one. Of course, the plan is still not finalized. So more features will come in.

(2) An new app for improving usability of Android devices when app is running in full screen mode. Since it is still a unreleased product. So I don’t want to talk about this new app too much.

(3) Button Savior 2.0?? I am still not sure whether I should do this one. If I did, I think I will add feature for adding more custom controls such as vol, mute….etc. And also will rethink a better way to trigger Button Savior.

If any of you have any new app idea or my current apps improvement, please don’t hesitate to send me an email to discuss about that at kiumiu.ca@gmail.com . Finally, I really appreciate those who gave me ideas, reported bugs, provided new themes, purchased my apps as a support of my work, helped me to debug, and wrote app reviews on their blog.  Without you, I don’t even have a chance to make my apps that far.  Now, lets enjoy the last few days left in 2011 and look forward a better year in 2012. Happy new year!

I added a long awaited feature of ability to remap Camera and Call key in 1.2.0. It is still buggy and limited to only 2 keys. I will put my focus to address them in next version.

Added:
(1) Ability to remap some keys to customized shortcuts.
